oh how the times have changed
This is definitely worth reblogging.
i reblog this every time
While it’s different, is it any better? Either way it’s propaganda telling women how they should look. There’s nothing wrong with being skinny. There’s nothing wrong with having curves. There’s nothing wrong with any way you look. But just because it isn’t propaganda telling women to be skinny, doesn’t mean it’s good.
I don’t think this was posted with the intent to say skinny/curvy is better/worse, but more about illustrating how incredibly arbitrary the popular concept of beauty is and why we shouldn’t get so caught up in it.
Okay, this is so damn infuriating because it’s hitting home for me. When I was growing up, even with government aid, we didn’t have heat, hot water or electricity for most of the year. And food? I used to have to sprinkle pepper on my plain, dollar store spaghetti so I wouldn’t be able to tell what was pepper and what were the little black bugs that got into it. Heck, I didn’t even know how to use the telephone until I was in high school because we didn’t have money for one.
If we got our aid cut for me not getting good grades, because honestly homework was the last thing on my mind, I have no fricking idea where I’d be today.
Apparently, I curse more than I think I do… and I talk about people a lot XD
Also, I’m fairly sure the numbers of reblogs and original posts are backwards o.o

[ get your own cloud ]
This is a Tumblr Cloud I generated from my blog posts between Dec 2012 and Apr 2013 containing my top 15 used words.
Just an observation
So I’ve noticed that whenever I post something like this (Sir Patrick Stewart standing for women’s rights), this (The Daily Show talking about same-sex marriage), or even this(!?)(me complaining about not being able to make a decent, non-caucasian Commander Shepard), I lose followers.
Personally, I’m surprised I even have followers in the first place (love you ppl still around XD), but I’m even more surprised that stuff like that ^ chases them away. Especially when 75-80% of what I post is No. 6, which is almost straight up BL, and Doctor Who, who is pretty hard to beat in regards to equality lovin’.
On the other hand, nobody gives a flying fuck when I post something like this.

tinaorange replied your post And while Im at it, Cloud is also not the sum total of his trauma. Hes been flanderized into an angst muffin even by the people who are familiar with the game, and its one of the things I dislike about his characterization in AC. Cloud is depressed and suffering from PTSD as a bare minimum, but hes also a total dork with a quirky sense of humor. Hes more complex than guy who is sad all the time. And towards the end of the game, a lot of his issues were actually being resolvedthat was the entire point of that symbolic fight with Seph in his mind. But then he took this flying leap backwards in AC and suddenly no one, including the writers, remembers any of the character development he got. So I get Johnny come latelys commenting on my fics about how Cloud is ooc when I dont write him as fanon!Cloud, but actual game Cloud, socially awkward quirkmeister that he really is.
this is the guy who says lets mosey ffs. also are people forgetting that hes in his very early 20s in the original game? im around that age and i couldnt imagine going through even half of the shit he did and coming out okay
Cloud isn’t actually in his early 20s, though, is the thing. Physically he is, but people never take into account that he spent a good chunk of his teenage years locked up in that lab beneath the Shinra Mansion being experimented on by Hojo. Mentally he’s still a sixteen year old during FF7 and it really sort of shows.
I love everything about this ^
Is it bad I remember this episode??
